Inspection Tips

Tips to help you when your vehicle inspection and registration renewal are due: 

• To save the disappointment a failure causes please see our recommended 'preparing your vehicle' advice. 
• Bring the correct 'Istamara', preferably or a good photocopy of both sides of the card or the appropriate official Traffic Department documents with the vehicle details when requesting a technical inspection.  
• The best time for the inspection is between 12:00 - 15:00 mid-week and the middle of the month to avoid the busiest times during the working days. 
• The inspection service is in most demand between 08:00 - 12:00 at the beginning and end of the month. 
• Bring along with you the valid approval from the Doha municipality in case your vehicle has an advertisement sticker on it, this will be required for legal approvals. If the vehicle has advertising, aftermarket graphics, stickers or strips, these will require Doha municipality official written approval to pass the legal inspection.
• If the vehicle has been imported into the State of Qatar bring all documents (e.g. custom papers, import papers, under test license plate validity receipt).
• After the vehicle Inspection 'PASS' (Report will be updated in MOI online), registration renewal must be completed within the 30 days from the pass report date/validity of registration.
